What Is truSculpt 3D?

Looking your best can seem like a daunting challenge when you have an abundance of body fat, cellulite, and poor skin tone. But now there’s an effective, noninvasive way to check all those problems off your list. It’s called truSculpt® 3D, an RF (radio-frequency) technology that delivers deep heating to subcutaneous adipose tissue. TruSculpt provides fat reduction, body sculpting/contouring, and a temporary reduction in the appearance of cellulite – all in one package.

The truSculpt 3D treatment by Cutera is specially designed to treat multiple areas of your body, including the abdomen, flanks, thighs, buttocks and anywhere else that fat stubbornly lingers. It also provides a temporary reduction in the appearance of cellulite. Compared to previous approaches such as ultrasound and freezing, truSculpt 3D has been found to be a faster, more effective form of eliminating fat and reshaping your body – as well as safe and comfortable.

How truSculpt 3D Works

Following brief, preliminary preparation, the truSculpt 3D handpiece is applied to your skin. The handpiece delivers deep-heating pulses of radiofrequency energy to a precise area of fat tissue. This lasts four minutes on average. Due to truSculpt 3D’s proprietary design, you can tolerate the heating of the area and the temperature can be adjusted to your comfort level. However, no topical anesthesia or pain medication is required.

The handpiece is then moved to adjacent areas where the process is repeated until the entire treatment area has been covered. As a result, fat cells are destroyed, and your body naturally continues to break down fat tissue in the area and disposes of it over a three-month period.

Typically, a treatment in one area takes less than an hour and – since the procedure is noninvasive – there is typically no downtime. So after your session, you can immediately resume your normal activities. At the most, some patients may experience mild side effects including redness, sweating, and tenderness in the treated area for just a few hours. Prior to your treatment, your doctor will inform you of what to expect during and following the session.

The truSculpt 3D treatment can be used on any area and all skin types. In just a few short visits, you’ll see permanent results including smaller mass, less dimpling, and improved skin tone.

Are You a Candidate for truSculpt 3D?

An ideal candidate for truSculpt 3D body shaping has a BMI of less than 30 and has unwanted fat in different areas of the body. However, those who are pregnant, have a cardiac pacemaker, internal defibrillator, tumors, and metallic implants (including joint replacements) in the target area are not.
